MY FIRST TIME IN PRINT

Today is a special day.

For the very first time my words have appeared on the printed page. Last Thursday evening I got a call asking if I would like to write a book review for one of Dunedin's local community papers - D Scene. So I trotted off on Friday morning to pick up a 574 page book - Belle by Lesley Pearse. I had to read the book and have the review written by Monday morning.

I'm happy to say I achieved the task.

Now I'm in the middle of reading a wonderful book by M. K. Hume about Merlin. (There it is over on the left of my blog.) The review for that will be in next weeks D Scene.

  1. Whoo hoo! I suppose I won't be able to get your review up here, unless it goes online some time. I've read a couple of Lesley Pearse books and enjoyed them. :D

I read your book review last night.
Hope the next book is more enjoyable.

  5. Congrats on your published review! I saw your comment somewhere and decided to stop by. Sure am glad I did. Historical fiction is my favorite genre. Right now I'm reading C. W. Gortner's THE CONFESSIONS OF CATHERINE DE MEDICI. It's hard to put it down. I'm looking forward to reading your novel.

  6. Hi walk2write,

    Thanks for stopping by.

The book on Catherine de Medici sounds interesting. Will you review it on your blog?

  8. I'm not finished reading it yet, probably about 2/3 of the way, so it may be another week before I get to it. I have a bad habit of reading several books at the same time. Usually, though, I try to limit myself to one novel at a time. Thanks for asking! I hope you'll stop by for a visit.

  9. Elisabeth -Hi, It's a spasmodic job, which is all I have time for at the moment. But it's all good experience.

walk2write - I often read more than one book at a time too! I've had a quick visit, but will be over again later and leave a comment. I've just got the next review to write this afternoon.
